Useful Expressions to explain a word that you don't know

People: It's somebody who ...; it's the person who...
Things: It's a thing which ...; it's a kind of machine which ...; for example, ...,
Places: It's a place where ...,
Verbs: You do this when ...; it's like ...
Adjectives: It's the opposite of ...; it's like ..., but ...; it's how you feel when ...
